Eating My Skincare · Episode 15
PDRN has been everywhere in skincare lately, so I wanted to make a food version, my quick take on a chirashi bowl loaded with ingredients tied to the same regenerative, glow-from-within idea.
This is the shortcut version, a chirashi seasoning packet mixed into the rice, then layered with maguro, ikura, masago, and a soft egg crepe on top.
It looks like a lot of components but it comes together fast once the rice is done.
Ikura (salmon roe)
Omega-3 and nucleotides
Salmon roe is rich in omega-3s and nucleotides, the food-based echo of the PDRN trend in skincare, associated with skin repair.
Maguro (tuna)
Lean protein, selenium
A lean protein source with selenium, an antioxidant mineral that supports skin health.
Egg
Biotin and protein
Eggs bring biotin and protein, both important building blocks for skin repair.
The bowl
Cook the rice
Wash and cook the rice, then mix in the chirashi packet once done.
Make the egg crepe
Whisk 3 eggs with a dash of mirin and water. Grease a large pan and cook on low-medium heat in a thin, even layer. Cool once done, then slice thinly.
Assemble the bowl
Layer sushi rice, egg slices, cucumber, maguro, ikura, and masago.
